Importance of open communication, never saying “No Comment”

[Jim Vance of the Federal Bureau of Investigations] showed us the importance of open communication, never saying “No Comment”
Use the following Law Enforcement excuses talking points instead:
  • Part of a ongoing Investigation.
  • We must keep any evidence shielded from the public to preserve the “integrity” of the “investigation”
  • Pending Litigation.
  • Cannot discuss personnel matters.
  • Cannot violate Officer Privacy.
  • Story is "one sided political story” and a witch-hunt
  • This is "rush to judgment by people who have no first-hand information about what transpired."
  • We have to wait until all the facts are in.
