Former heroic "Good Man" Brazoria County Sheriff's Office deputy Kevin Tippit witchhunt.

"My decision is entirely independent of the ongoing criminal investigation and should not be interpreted as a conclusion regarding criminal liability. Now, I know there will be some who believe this decision goes too far and others believe it does not go far enough. And I understand my role is not to satisfy every opinion. My role as sheriff is to make informed decisions based on the information available to me and while respecting the integrity and the investigative and legal process. So this past week I have heard concerns regarding transparency and I want you to know that I remain committed to providing information whenever it can be made available as I am doing today without compromising the investigation."

So Family Lawyer Charles Adams is smearing the heroic police by his exasperating poisonous Prejudicial and Deceptive Pre-Trial Statements and should be gagged by the court and disbarred.

@29:25 "I do think it'll it'll play a role in the civil litigation. And I and ultimately I think that's why the sheriff's department uh and the rangers refused to release anything. And that's, you know, one thing I would like to add.You know, that's it's the biggest rub is that they they got the deputy who killed this guy's kid in and they show him the video, right? They get the dad in and they stonewall, right? They just want a statement from him and they they they minimize it. It was just disgusting. And the only way the dad got to watch the video is because the DA agreed. And the DA DA's office actually has more constraints than the Rangers or the the sheriff's department on releasing stuff. And it's just awful. The Rangers behavior to date has been despicable. The sheriff's behavior to date has been despicable to release this glowing praise of Tippet on the day he's arrested. You know, it's and it sounded like the lawyer wrote it, like the civil attorney. It read very much like, "How do I insulate my agency from liability But it's it's just absolutely disgusting. We should all want the same thing, right? We should all want a well-run sheriff's department because you have a whole legion of guys running around with guns and the great weight and authority of the state behind them. And we should all want there to be transparency and justice for everyone involved.

Tippit as a hero cop deserved this praise and respect when is he is acquitted and rehired. Sheriff Bo Stallman said the termination was based on policy violations involving the handling and discharge of Tippit’s firearm and was separate from the criminal investigation. He defends the heroic split second decision but policy was violated so his hands are tied .The sheriff was forced to fire him because the rules are rigid ("his hands were tied"), but the department still views Tippit as a dedicated officer who was trying to do his job.

"This indictment carries heavy emotion. John Jr. was a young man who was well-loved and had his whole life in front of him. He should still be here with his family. My experience with Tippit has been that he is a good man, who worked very hard to do a good job for our team and our community."

PBA STATEMENT ON THE TERMINATION
OF DBPD OFFICER JOEL LLINAS
August 18, 2026
Daytona Beach – The Coastal Florida PBA was made aware by news release this afternoon that Officer Joel Llinas was sacrificed to an angry mob of cop-haters and terminated. We could not disagree more with this absurd outcome. Officer Llinas was trained and instructed to be a proactive cop, and that doesn’t just include shopping with kids at Christmas or passing out school supplies in the summer. Sometimes that job is to go into problem neighborhoods and address ongoing concerns raised by residents. In March of this year, that is precisely what Officer Llinas was doing.
On this particular evening, Officer Llinas was grabbed and possibly bitten by the resisting suspect during an arrest and made what could have been a simple arrest into an unnecessary fiasco. This entire incident is the fault of the suspect, not the officer. Sadly, this department has chosen to ignore the obvious – that he did what they asked him to do – and terminated a hardworking cop who proudly served our country in the military as well. None of that mattered to the Mayor or the Chief, who we should all recall openly telling the same angry cop-hating mob months ago how “troubling” and “concerning” the arrest was to them, long before the investigation even began. Was there any ever doubt this would be how the chapter ended? We don’t believe so. It’s clear to our members the city decided some time ago that this was going to be the outcome, facts be damned, and that’s unfair, if not illegal.
For now, the witch hunt is over, and the city has gotten its temporary pound of flesh. Fortunately, we have seen this before and we will be aggressively fighting to get Officer Llinas job back through the arbitration process in the months ahead. Our officers will not be bullied by a spineless administration that succumbs so easily to blatant political pressure instead of recognizing the valuable protection our members provide in the community.
